Book summary:

Elle and Dan haven't quite achieved their goal of having sex in every room of their new house--but "almost!" Marriage hasn't dampened their hunger for one another in the least, and their relationship is as hot and passionate as ever. But when Dan brings up the subject of having a baby together, Elle finds herself conflicted. Between her dysfunctional family background and her fear of how a baby might change their life together, Elle's not sure she's ready for the big step. Dan doesn't bring the subject up again, but the issue takes hold in Elle's mind. And as their frequent lovemaking sizzles with unquenchable desire, Elle's heart is filled to the brim with love and the longing to give Dan "everything."

My review:

He thought he was lucky. I was the lucky one, though. Lucky I’d found him, and that he loved me.
Luckier I loved him back.

Dirty was one of the first books by Megan Hart I read, and it remains as one of my favorites. Elle and Dan's story pulled at my heartstrings like few did. Despite the ending Dirty had, even despite seeing them in Broken, I was left wondering if they really did find their happily ever after. After everything that happened with them in Dirty, how could I not? This is why I love the fact that Megan makes these "old" characters reappear in newer books. That way I got to see Elle and Dan not only in Broken, but Stranger and Naked, too. Timelinewise Reason Enough would come between Broken and Stranger.

The cameos of Elle and Dan were nice, but having them as main stars again is much better. Given that Reason Enough is a part of Spice Briefs, you can guess it's pretty spicy, and I can tell you you guessed right. For so few pages, there are quite a few hot scenes. What else could you expect from Dan and Elle, really? But even with the page shortage, and abundance of nakedness, this still managed to pull those heartstrings.

Elle was deciding about having a baby, and given the history of her family, and so many issues she had that was not an easy decision. Her mother issues were at the front. Of course. Oh, that woman just rubs me the wrong way. Always has, always will, but it was good seeing some improvement.

Best of all was reading about a happier Elle. Finally.

And I can't believe it, but even a story this short made me cry. I don't know why I'm surprised--this is Megan Hart we're talking about. Still, I thought her Spice Briefs story would spare my tear ducts. Silly me. But I forgive her.

All in all, a great follow-up on Dan and Elle, and a must-read for anyone who read and liked Dirty.

Otherwise Alone (Evan Arden Trilogy, #1) by Shay Savage

Book summary:

Lieutenant Evan Arden sits in a shack in the middle of nowhere, waiting for orders that will send him back home - if he ever gets them. Other than his loyal Great Pyrenees, there's no one around to break up the monotony. The tedium is excruciating, but it is suddenly interrupted when a young woman stumbles up his path.

He has two choices - pick her off from a distance with his trusty sniper-rifle, or dare let her approach his cabin and enter his life.

Why not? It's been ages, and he is otherwise alone...

My review:

The first part in the Evan Arden Trilogy is very short, so this will be a really short review.

The first time I read Otherwise Alone was in January, and I only had this to say:

"I want to read more!

Evan Arden, tell me more."

description

Why I haven't read the sequels yet is a mystery to me, because Otherwise Alone was a great way to start a series that had everything to get me hooked. It had just enough information to make me want to learn more about Evan Arden. His line of work promised a lot of action in the continuation of the story, and the short time with the lost woman Lia did left me wondering what/if anything will happen between them. Also, that short time was full of hotness, so that's another reason to continue reading. Plus, it's written from Evan's POV. I always like finding books written from the hero's perspective, and when that hero is an assassin, you just know you're in for a ride.

I'd say we got a lot from so few pages, and this time I'm going forward and finding out exactly what Evan Arden has to say more.

But Tristan’s reached a breaking point, and even that huge wad of cash might not be enough to keep tonight’s arrangement from crashing and burning.

***REVIEW***

Arc provided by Netgalley in exchange for honest review

Coming straight from my mymindisaverydirtyplace shelf is the new installment in the Market Garden Series - Payoff featuring my two favorite rent-boys Tristan & Jared. The last book was great, but still, I missed these two naughty boys. First of all, what you need to know is that unlike the last book which was a novel, unfortunately this is a short story counting around 56 pages, but that's the story's only flaw, because, just like every other story featuring Tristan & Jared, it will leave you wanting for more. (That's why this review will also be a short one.)

Things weren't quite right between him and Jared, and it was getting worse.
Every time they woke up together, the knot in Tristan's gut tightened, despite his best efforts to ignore it. Something had to give.

So, Tristan & Jared are back in full force, but there's trouble in paradise. Considering their profession, we all knew that it was only a matter of time for this to happen, but I always thought that Jared will be the one who will start feeling this way, and not Tristan, because of them two, Jared was always the sensitive and shy one with Tristan as the stronger and more confident one. BUT, it seemed the roles were a little bit switched this time, and even though I felt a bit sorry for Tristan, at the same time it was high time for him to show his true feelings. Of course, their stories wouldn't be the same without their kinky sugar-daddy Rolex. He is back and more than ready to spice things up and what's more important- there's no budget limit for the scenario he had in mind this time ;)!

"What's your budget?"
"My budget isn't an issue. It's question of what I want. The price" -he waved a hand- "is a minor detail. I'm just thinking of something a little bit different than the last couple of times."
Jared gulped. The first time Rolex had wanted to watch Tristan fuck Jared. Second time he'd had Jared give Tristan a lap dance. What the hell did he have in mind tonight? "All right," Tristan said, still locking eyes with Rolex."What's your pleasure, then?" "Something I thought about all the way across Atlantic." Rolex's gaze slid towards Jared, then back towards Tristan. "Watching you guys was hot, but I think I'm in the mood to be watched tonight."

The  story was fun, the chemistry between these three was of the hook and if you are a MM fan and you want a short, sexy & fun read, you should definitely check these series out!

Office Toy by Cleo Peitsche

Genre:
Erotica, BDSM, Short Story

My rating: 3 stars

Book summary:

"Elle’s job interview starts with Cunningham throwing away her cheap clothes and sending his assistant to buy new outfits. He’s got her naked, so of course he’ll lay her out on the conference table and claim her mouth. Soon Elle is trussed up, all of her holes stretched full while three hot men have their wicked way.

She loves her first tastes of liberated, naughty sex. But she’d better not start falling for her boss—no matter how safe he makes her feel—because while office sex is encouraged, romance is strictly forbidden."

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this short story. I'm not usually fan of those because they tend to have that unfinished feeling or they are just like this quick, mindless snippets of the bigger picture.

It is quite simple - girl comes to the job interview and ends in the middle of the hottest sex of  her life with not one man, but three. Shot description - written porn for your lunch break. What Cleo Peitsche managed to do is to make that whole setting believable and erotic. Okay, so maybe it's not that good idea to read it during your lunch break.

I just wish that author decided to write the whole novel instead of the short story. I know that there is sequel, this is actually part of Office Toy series, but it's not the same thing for me. It is evident that this author knows how to write scenes that will melt your panties off in five seconds. I hope she will decide to give us something more in the future.
