Autumn Taboo: Student&Teacher Affairs

Hello our lovely, way too hot people!
We are gathered her today to..... talk about our new feature on Way Too Hot Books.
Every season has it-topic and this year it looks like taboo fantasy of every high school girl is coming true! Well, at least in books.
We decided to join the hype, so welcome to our
Autumn Taboo!

What does that mean?
Considering that all of us girls gathered around Way Too Hot Books are in one way or another involved in school or teaching, for us love affairs between students and teachers is greatest taboo of them all.
What will we do?
Read.
As you can see, we found some books that are talking about this topic. If you know for book that fits to what we're looking for, don't be shy and tell us. If you're author and you have book that talks about student/teacher relationship and you'd like to be part of this, contact us. If you're fellow blogger and you like this idea, join the fun. Just as a sign of your support, link us up in your posts and leave comment here. We would love to hear your thoughts and read your reviews.

How long will this last?
We do not have strict timelines, but we're hoping that we'll manage wrap up everything until the end of November.

Way Too Hot Books is part of Rachael Wade's new book blog tour and you'll get a chance to win e-books of her Preservation series. Leah Reader and Evan Revees will answer some of our questions ( if you want us to ask them something specific, let us now). We'll try to get more goodies for you.:)
Also, If I Stay by Evan Reeves is featured tomorrow here, so stay tuned.

We really hope that this will work out and that you'll join our conversations.
Much love,
Glass & Iva & Purple & Red

  1. Great titles here, I've heard good things about Losing It and Gabriels Inferno! Keen to hear what you guys think of your Autumn Taboo books.

  2. I read Gabriel's Inferno and Losing It and enjoyed both of them. Both of them deal with college age students, so I don't the taboo is quite as bad as having an affair with a high school age student. There's no problem with being of legal age, but there is the problem of propriety. On the Island is technically about a student and his teacher even if they are removed from society.

I'll have to check out some of these other reads. I've always adored the cover of Want! It's just gorgeous, but I think it's had mixed reviews. To participate are you asking that a blogger chose one of these reads and then review it on their blog?

    1. I didn't know that On the Island was about that too. Thank you.

I liked Losing It, it was fun read, but I remember that I had some issues with plot. I'd have to read it again.

I agree, it's a bigger deal if it's high school students, but it's more because of age difference. So far I had impression that those books approach to the subject more seriously. College age students and teachers affairs on the other hand are more along the lines of melodramatic romance novels. Whole point of the book is a love story, there is very little consideration of social aspects.

Yes, you can pick any book with this type of premise, it doesn't have to be one of the books we posted here. Also, we will have something like "what I think about this" posts, so you can do that too if you want. We just ask bloggers to link us is their posts as little sign of support.

  3. Ha, that's a great idea! This taboo topic is definitely the big thing right now. I think S. Walden has a novel with this topic as well. I think it's called Good. I own the title on my Kindle, but since I haven't read it yet, I really don't remember what the synopsis contained, but I think it was something about a student-teacher as well.

I hear great things about Unteachable which I, personally, didn't enjoy that much and it was a DNF for me. I loved Gabriel's Inferno which was a little on the dark side, but a more intellectual novel I guess. Also, Losing It is superb! Loved that it made me laugh so much. It's a great novel, in my opinion. I hope you girls have fun :)

    1. Thank you, Siiri. I hope we will be seeing you around more than.:)

I added Good to my TBR shelf on GR, you are right - it is about student/teacher relationship. If you decide to read it, I'd love to hear your impressions.

I actually started reading Gabriel's Inferno when it first came out, but I DNFed it. I think I wasn't ready for something like that back then. I'll have to give it a try now.
Lot of my Friends read Unteachable and they all have different opinions, so I'm afraid to even start it, but I have to - next week hopefully.

    2. Thnx Sirri:), feel free to join the fun! Btw. I have Good by S.Walden too, but I also didn't know it's about student/teacher relationship. Now I have to read it.

I finished Unteachable a week ago and liked it, even though I must admit I expected more after all the hype. I liked better Gabriel's Inferno, because of the poetic writing- loved it. I agree- Losing It was a fun read, but out of these 3 teacher-student books, as far of the plot and writing style is concerned, for me, it would be on the last place.

    1. I know what you mean - it has that ick effect. We will see how authors approached to that topic.

  7. Yeah, the high school ones are too icky for me. I read one book with that as the plot and it was too much. I'm not sure if I'll join in, my TBR pile is pretty crazy, but I'll be watching your posts.

  8. Woha I love new feature girl ;) I haven't read any of these though but I'm planing to read Unteachable :) But I cannot believe you haven't made me read something with this twist, but then again you really love me so you go straight to father/daughter thing ;P Kidding by the way we can put Easy and Slammed there, not quite but still :)

    1. Oh, honey, I have to scare you with heavy stuff before I get you to read something "mellow" like this.:)
I'm planning to read Unteachable this week, so how about buddy read? We haven't done it since Lumatere Chronicles.:)

I've been thinking if I could include those two, but they are still different. There is forbidden romance base, but it's not such a taboo. I don't know jet, I'll have to think more about it.

    2. You little evil thing! Don't forget that your whip is with me currently. ;) Sure thing babe, I'll squeeze it in :)

  9. Of all the books in the post, I've only read Unteachable :) And I loved it. I wanna read more books with this theme, especially if the student is in high school. For some reason it seems more interesting that way.
I really liked The Truth About You and Me by Amanda Grace, but there's nothing erotic in it, so I don't know if it works for this blog.

    1. It doesn't have to be erotic, as the matter of fact, I'll post my review of The Truth About You and Me during the week.
I know what you mean about being more interesting - I'm guessing it's more taboo because of age difference.

  11. What a great feature! I haven't read any of the books you've got listed, but the covers have me super curious about them. I think I would enjoy college themed ones, but the highschool variety may be pushing a few many taboos for me to enjoy. I look forward to seeing what this feature produces!

  18. OH - Ainslie Paton just reminded me on Twitter - Tampa by Alissa Nutting. Although that's closer to Erotica, not erotic fiction. Mighty uncomfortable read.
